Volunteer Sign-Up

You are welcome to volunteer for any number of activities. In order to allow everyone an opportunity to participate, you may not be contacted to help with every activity for which you have volunteered.

               Volunteer at the School

Descriptions of Volunteer Positions:

Room Parent: The Room Parent is the individual classroom representative. This person may be asked to coordinate classroom volunteers at the request of the teacher and act as the liaison to the Parent Teacher Fellowship meetings. Plan and coordinate all class parties. Plan and coordinate special class events: Teacher’s birthday, teacher appreciation week events, end of year teacher thank you (optional). Promote school affairs: school wide fundraisers, events, and class specific events.

Party Helper: The party helper is expected to help plan and attend the party. Please note siblings are not allowed to attend parties. Please plan accordingly.

Auction Classroom Project Coordinator: This coordinator will work directly with the auction committee and the teacher to create a classroom project for our annual auction. These projects are personalized by the class, therefore this role requires some time to be spent in the classroom to complete project.

Grade Level Representative/Coordinator: This person would represent the grade at the Parent Teacher Fellowship meetings. Also would coordinate grade level activities, plan grade level fellowships, assist teachers with “fun” days in class and coordinate teachers for family nights (Oberwiess, Culvers).

Auction Committee Member: This member would be involved in our largest fundraiser event. The auction committee is made up of various smaller committees: classroom projects, food, donations, decorations, invitations, tickets, etc.

Holiday Wish Tree Project: This committee creates a unique way to communicate the teachers’ wish lists to the parents and coordinates the collection of gifts during the holiday season.

Teacher Appreciation Week: This week traditionally occurs in May. These volunteers coordinate various activities to shower our teachers with appreciation.

Entertainment Book Fundraising: The fundraiser will begin on August 15th and run until September 3rd. This volunteer will help coordinate the sales of the books. PLEASE NOTIFY IMMEDIATELY IF YOU ARE INTERESTED!

BoxTops/Tyson/Campbells Collections: This volunteer would help coordinate the collection and processing of the boxtops and labels.

Lunchroom Helper: During this time you will help children:

• open lunches (Milk cartons etc.)
• clean up spills
• encourage children to eat -(little ones especially will just sit and many times need someone to come by and encourage them to take another bite.
• Armark- our lunch provider does the table cleaning since they are responsible for the cleanliness by their contract.

Lunch Recess/ or Afternoon Recess You need a whistle and love to watch children interact. You will supervise the children as they play. A teacher will be out also to assist. Rainy days or inside recess days you will supervise several classes as they play games in their rooms.

Library: Parent Helpers will assist the children find books they would enjoy, read a story to the children and help them check out books.; Mrs. Gilmer is the school Librarian and will be there to help also.

Teacher Helpers: We need people who are available to come and make copies for teachers, help teachers with special class projects, or work with children struggling in an area or a time for students who are excelling to be challenged with extra material.

We truly appreciate you and your willingness to give of yourselves and your time to help. This is also a wonderful way to get connected and become an active part of your school.
